Ward knows how to handle this genre, keeping her stories and heroes rough and bloody and haunting and violent but still capable of sweetness, weakness, humanity. Absolutely worth reading.

Butch "the Destroyer"...what a surprise. Also this book has a perfect mix: action,drama, love....

Two and a half stars just because the Brothers are all cool and the storyline is always pretty engaging. Otherwise, Butch and Marissa are totally annoying characters. Two and a half stars just because the Brothers are all cool and the storyline is always pretty engaging. Otherwise, Butch and Marissa are totally annoying characters. I didn't get into them at all and turning the cop into a Brother (with him being of Wrath's lineage of all things) was lame if you ask me. Bring on Vishous, hopefully he has an interesting background and won't turn stupid as soon as a female shows up (but I'm so afraid it'll happen...).
