Originally, a book telling you what you should do, preaching you the right way to deal with things, would be a extremely boring book that you would probably threw it away after reading the first few pages. However, with the interesting cartoons, the author's humor writing style, and ironic example, it becomes more fun in reading this book and learning from it.
Cartoons and comics in the book is one of my greatest motivation when reading this book. Often, books we read during our high school have only few or no illustrations at all. Parents and teachers may think we are already too old to read books with beautiful and eye-catching illustration. However, we are already BORED in in books. This book help me to regain interest in books and attract me back from computers and television by these illustrations. You may think I'm naive, but it's really true to me.
Even with fun illustrations, without attracting words, I may just watch the cartoons and throw it away. So content is also important to keep me reading. The author's writing style is so humor. Instead of preaching you like teachers, he 'talks' to us and make fun. The use of capital letters and great variety of punctuation help a lot in expressing the author's tone when he is 'talking' to us.
With the help of many ironic and fun examples, the book have really remind me many mistake when dealing with relationships and people. When I saw the examples, I may laugh at the mistake they made. But then I would remembered that I've actually made the same mistake! These examples really reminds me a lot.
This book really taught me a lot. I just hoped to have a copy for myself, so that I can always refer back to it and improve my social skills.
