Consigliato.
Matilda is a short children’s novel by Roald Dahl. It is so delightful that every children should read it. In several edition it is enriched by the illustrations of Quentin Blake, and so it is in mine.
Matilda is a very special child, with very particular parents: while most parents dote unconditionally on their kids, Matilda’s ones are completely annoyed by her. This would sound very sad even if Matilda was a normal child, but it sounds even more sad since Matilda is a very brilliant and kindly girl.
But the things will change when Matilda will start the primary school: there she will meet friends, she will meet an enthusiast teacher (Miss. Honey) who will help her, but she will also meet a terrible foe: Miss. Trunchbull, the headmistress of Crunchem Hall Primary School. She is a huge woman, who launched the hammer for the Olympic British Team. She never lost the love for this sport, and occasionally she thrown some student through the window. Every student shiver in her presence, and even Miss. Honey was succubus of this horrible woman. Matilda, with her kindness, and also with her wonderful capabilities, will help Miss. Honey against Miss. Trunchbull, as Miss. Honey will help Matilda with her parents.
A book impossible to forget, impossible to do not love. It is full of cleaver word games (as the name of the school, that sounds as: Crunch (th)’em All), the writing is simple and effective, and the story makes you smile of happiness....Continua
The movie had me on the edge of my seat and I was always wondrous of being able to "have powers".
The movie and Book were pretty bang on and I remember just loving the portrayal of evil of Ms. Trunchbowl and Matilda's spunky character. She took everything by the horns and made a stand for herself and friends. Ms. Honey fills out her name and even though it is really Jenny, it makes her seem like the dearest teacher any child would want to have.
It was sweet and lovely, I would be happy to read this book again. It's truly inspirational and makes you smile once you reach the end.
