it's incredibly original and so hard to bear sometimes: the images are so deeply real....you feel the pain on your skin, you can hear them screaming....

Outstanding and heartbreaking, not only in its brutally honest depiction of the horrors of the holocaust, but also in its exploration of the troubled relationship between a holocaust survivor and his son.

is required reading for my critical thinking in literature class; at first the drawings seem simple, too simple; but as i read into it, the story becomes more powerful, moving; an honest recollection of the holocaust; and honest reaction from the story teller; i recommend highly
