  At once a hot romance and historical fiction. Artemio Furia is an Argentine gaucho, dominated with a desire to avenge the kidnapping of his sister and the murders of his parents which he witnessed as a young child. His life takes a turn when he meets Rafaela, the only woman to completely steal his heart and soul. The reader is well into the book before it turns political, dealing with the birth of Argentina as a nation.

  I would have preferred it to end before it did. The last few paragraphs were an excellent way to end it, but the rest of the last chapter was a little too much for me.
