  • One of those rare cases where the re-read is better than the first time!

I've forgotten that I've read this before! Does this mean that this book is forgettable? I've thought it through and I think that it's probably because this book is to busy! There's so many things going on with so many different characters in so many different places that there is no focal point that helps you to remember it. That said, there are still very original and distinctive places that the characters visit in the book, which is funny at times. The very end of the book which show the main characters moving on is an anticlimatic letdown though.

  • An okay young adult fantasy. I didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped - I'd have rather have read about Nick than Roddy - but it wasn't bad and it had its very inventive moments.
