    After I finished this I noticed it was classified as non-fiction. I would have rated this book 5 stars as a fictional read since it is wildly entertaining with an endearing cast of characters. However classifying a book as non-fiction brings all kinds of questions of authenticity and accuracy into consideration that a fictional book just doesn't have, and that's just where this book falls short.

  • I enjoyed reading this book because of the various and interesting characters the author shares.

    However, it did get me a little confused as to the point of the book, and towards the end (the last 20 pages) I was just anxious and ready to find the outcome of the tale.

    I enjoyed reading this book because of the various and interesting characters the author shares.

    However, it did get me a little confused as to the point of the book, and towards the end (the last 20 pages) I was just anxious and ready to find the outcome of the tale.

    It was a good read, and I am curious to see Clint Eastwood's interpretation of the book in his film of the same title that was released in 1997.

  • Skip the movie!

  • Excellent and intriguing. Great writing, and compelling characters and descriptions. The movie doesn't come close to capturing all the detail and history. A non-fiction book with the feel of a greatly imagined story.

  • I don't know if it was the writer or the reader, but after 4-1/2 cassettes, I couldn't take it any more. Just not my cup of tea. It didn't seem to be going anywhere. I never even got to the murder. It just didn't seem worth waiting for.
