Mikaroo could fly

Mikaroo could fly, until her parents grew worried and the townsfolk started gossiping. Then there was the incident in the schoolyard with Peter Spitenee. Finally Mikaroo decided not to fly anymore. Much to evryone's relief, she devoted herself to books and studying instead.

By the time she was eight years old, Mikaroo had forgotten how to fly. Holding onto the memory of flying, and longing to remember how, she questioned all the flying creatures she met. She studied botany and even experimented with flying gadgets. Nothing worked. Mikaroo could no longer fly.

Then one day she met a bumble bee. She questioned him like all the rest, but he would only laugh and say "I don't know how to fly!" Mikaroo pressed him for an answer, and the one she got changed her life forever.
