  • I don't like romantic, girly books as a rule, but this was very sweet, enjoyable little Cinderella story. The film is also worth watching.

  • It has to be read bearing in mind tht it is a book written for a public of middle-aged middle-class women of the 1030s....within that context it is a really enjoyable reading.
