The pasos encourage instructors to conduct the very first day of class entirely in Spanish, through a variety of visual stimuli. Chapters are consistently structured: goals, thematic context in which to learn and practice new vocabulary, a grammar section, in-text summary of grammar, a skills mosaic weaving together the material addressed in the chapter, and a vocabulary list.
