Infatti egli riceve una lettera in cui è richiesto il suo aiuto perchè il mittente si sente in pericolo. Quando, tuttavia, Poirot giunge sul posto, il crimine è già stato commesso. Poirot condurrà alla sua maniera le indagini, scontrandosi con il detective Giraud di Parigi senza esclusione di colpi. Un libro ben scritto e articolato in cui emerge su tutti lo stile unico e inconfondibile del piccolo ispettore Belga attento a tutto ciò che agli altri sfugge e maestro nel ricostruire i fatti nell’unica maniera logica, che immancabilmente conduce verso il colpevole. La citazione :
