What should I say about this book... At the beginning I thought it was a copy of “Shadow of the Wind”, but then page after page I started to love it. This book tells us the story of a man, about fifty years old, who, after meeting a Portugese woman on a bridge in Bern, decides to leave everything behind to start a journey to Lisbon. Not only the thought of that woman, but also a book by a misterious writer/doctor accompany him throughout his travels. It's a complex character this doctor, who lived at a time when in Portugal freedom was not on the program. The life of this Swiss man turns into a chain of meetings with people who knew or are related to this misterious writer. It's a deep story and it's worth to read it!
Che dire di questo libro? All'inizio pensavo fosse una copia dell'Ombra del Vento, ma poi pagina dopo pagina mi ci sono appassionata. Un libro che parla di un uomo, di mezza età, che un giorno, dopo aver incontrato una donna portoghese su un ponte a Berna, decide di lasciare tutto quello che di sicuro offre la sua vita e partire per Lisbona. Oltre al ricordo della donna lo accompagna anche un libro di uno scrittore/medico portoghese. Si tratta di un personaggio complesso, vissuto durante la dittatura. La vita dello svizzero diventa un susseguirsi di incontri con persone che conoscevano oppure sono imparentate con questo scrittore. Profondo e molto bello, questo libro è da leggere!
