Legions of readers entranced by Twilight are hungry for more and they won't be disappointed. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural twist. The "star-crossed" lovers theme continues as Bella and Edward find themselves facing new obstacles, including a devastating separation, the mysterious appearance of dangerous wolves roaming the forest in Forks, a terrifying threat of revenge from a female vampire and a deliciously sinister encounter with Italy's reigning royal family of vampires, the Volturi. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.

    Beginning Impressions

At the risk of sounding as deranged as Edward finds Bella, I'd really love to jump into this book and have a go at being Bella. At the risk of sounding as deranged as Edward finds Bella, I'd really love to jump into this book and have a go at being Bella. These stories definitely swallow you up like only a truly great book can. And while I have a lot of books I love and have read over and over, I can't really think of the last one that had this kind of effect on me. (Discounting Twilight, since it's still the same story.) Stephenie Meyer may be claiming her own Revered Author Shelf in my room!

Better than the first!! More story a little less "dazzle." Left me impatient for the third.

I didn't read the book. The following is heresy mixed with speculation..

Things we love to laugh at: Katie Holmes' and Tom Cruise's acting; Angie's "He's not my son! Give me back my son!" donned in pouting lips in "The Changeling"; and now, Bella Swan, the love-struck-by-a-vampire ... (continue)

Give me back my son!" donned in pouting lips in "The Changeling"; and now, Bella Swan, the love-struck-by-a-vampire girl of "The Twilight Saga", who has been "in pain" for 300 pages and counting in "New Moon", "the hole in [her] chest" which has doubled into "holes" since Jacob's leave, and her world of "beautiful" beus, where Edward's (the vampire) skin is "beautiful", and Jacob's hair is also "beautiful". And I thought "Twilight" was unbearable (I abandoned the book 2/3 through). The movie did an awesome job by comparison!
