Nick Waplington

Nick Waplington, photographer of the ordinary, again turns his lens on daily life. In this new book of photographs, taken throughout the 90s, Waplington searches for the Higgs, often called the God particle. To discover the Higgs--which might flash across Atlas's layered detectors for a microsecond--researchers will have to process a staggering amount of information. To paraphrase the words of Kafka, "You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait, be quiet still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice and will roll in ecstasy at your feet."
