  • NINETEEN MINUTES

I'm hooked on NINETEEN MINUTES, whom I discovered only recently (yes, I was living in a cave). I haven't yet worked my way through all of her previous 13 novels (four down, nine to go), but I've read enough to know that her work is consistently intel ... (read full critics)

Tho it is a grim topic, the story plot is very tight. It makes me think about the bullying when I was a teen. I guess all of us been thru that, on both the giving and receiving end. You never know how deep you can deconstruct someone else's life.

As usual, Picoult leaves you with an ending you never see coming. This book was a page-turner, as cliche as that sounds. I couldn't stop reading it, and was still thinking about it long after I finished.

I don't think I'm going to read any more books by this author. She provides her take on various "issues of the day" (e.g., this one is about a school shooting), and it's not that I think what she says is wrong. I just don't find it illuminating.
