  Forse questo libro è stato sopravvalutato in passato, ciò deve aver generato una sua convinta sottovalutazione presente.
  Sta di fatto che, se la maggior parte del libro è un viaggio delirante tra colori e polvere piuttosto confuso, il finale riesce a portare a compimento quello che apparentemente è uno sfogo senza capo né coda. Ma attenzione, non basandosi su pensieri razionali, il protagonista non giudica razionalmente le sue scorribande alla luce di una maturazione giunta con l'età; anzi, rievoca tutto quanto con uno splendido sentimento d'abbandono.
  Un libro che ogni volta che viene chiuso invoglia a partire non può essere brutto.
