    A love as shy and impossible as that in Ishiguro's 'Remains of the day', but the main characters are definitely livelier and less willing to adhere to the moral standards of the day.

    Oscar and Lucinda are thrown together in scandal. A shared love of gambling has placed them outside society. They wish to redeem themselves by building a glass church in the Australian outback.

    Will the church get built? Will they finally confess their love? Will all be well that ends well? Let me just say: nothing is as it seems...
