A retrospective coming of age story focussing on a son's relationship with his father, seen from the perspective of the son now coping with old age and loneliness, and set in a remote Norwegian forest landscape. Evocative and superbly written.

this is a really good book. i learnt a think or too from it.
it may be slow and rather uneventful for some, but i found it beautiful. very well written (if that can be judged by the translation at all), very honest.
i could smell the forest when i read it :)
