Absolutely epic the part with Lucipher; quite boring that with Adam, Eve, the sin and all.
Very faithful to the original myth in the Bible, it manages to raise lots of questions.
Mi sonoi ripromessa di leggerlo da tanto tempo, ma ancora non mi decido ad affrontarlo... prima o poi comunque lo leggerò perché fa parte delle memorie risorgimentali di cui mi occupo... questo libro infatti lo leggeva di nascosto il marchese Giorgio Pallavicino nel carcere dello Spielberg... di nascosto per due motivi il primo è che ad un certo punto per decisione dell'imperatore i detenuti erano stati privati dei propri libri, il secondo è che Pallavicino aveva una fervida immaginazione e il medico del carcere era convinto che questo libro non fosse adatto a lui perché contribuiva a far peggiorare lo stato di esaltazione e agitazione in cui il detenuto già si trovava...

One of the most frustrating reads in the history of unnecessary blathering... I have attempted several times to attempt to read through PL since but only to set it down again and again.
I don't know if there are editorial problems of this great poem (literature is not my specialty), so I just bought this cheap, portable penguin edition, which also supplies some rather useful notes.
