A maze of false identities, missing corpses, and dead men come alive bedevils Philadelphia lawyer Victor Carl in William Lashner's riveting new thriller. Past Due delivers colourful characters, witty dialogue and
non-stop suspense.

Attorney Victor Carl says there is something perversely cheerful about a crime scene in the middle of the night - flashing red and blue lights and yellow tape - 'unless the corpse within that tape isn't a total stranger'. As he digs into the old case, Victor himself becomes a target. Behind the attacks is a powerful man with secrets of his own. Victor's life and his future depend on finding a dead man and a murderer - and finding them fast.
