    This book appealed to me because it's about a cricket team that has played all over the world but is definitely "second best". Formed during the university days of the author by boys not elected to the regular university cricket team, its aim is more to have fun than to win the game.

    This book appealed to me because it's about a cricket team that has played all over the world but is definitely "second best". Formed during the university days of the author by boys not elected to the regular university cricket team, its aim is more to have fun than to win the game.
    Unfortunately, it is not at all funny if you don't know anything about cricket and its rules (like me). So in spite of the Monty Pythonesque appeal, I abandoned the book after 100 pages.
