  Frightening

  I don't exactly "love" this book, but it deserves four stars for impact. It scared the hell out of me. I read it when I was about 16 and it made me wonder "what if I wake up tomorrow and the world has ended?"   I don't exactly "love" this book, but it deserves four stars for impact. It scared the hell out of me. I read it when I was about 16 and it made me wonder "what if I wake up tomorrow and the world has ended?" I think it's possibly why I didn't find "The Stand" all that scary - been there, done that in Plague 99. That and being 10 years older, I guess.
  There are two sequels - After the Plague AKA Come Lucky April and The Watchers at the Shrine. I've read part two (which is interesting if slightly off the mark) and will get round to the third at some point.
