      The book was published in 1965 and so reflects an earlier attitude about poetic form than is probably current today. Nevertheless, the author makes some excellent points about both meter and form which are helpful to anyone trying to understand the role of meter and form in poetry. For those who are trying their hand at writing their own poetry, I believe he can at least offer an important perspective which will alter the way one understands the mechanics of of building a poem.
