    Generally this is a good book, but there are a few places in which Ariely seems weak on what standard economic theory actually is as he criticizes it. Some readers in cognitive sciences may not find that this book is particularly insightful, or presents anything new, but this book probably is not targeted at those readers. Those who study economics, particularly of more heterodox viewpoints will find this book fascinating. Those of more mainstream economic viewpoints will probably find it does not speak to their worldview.

    - free items (avoidace of loss aversion?)
    - social norms vs market norms (when money is involved in asking for assistance)
    - emotion: we generally underestimate the impulse of emotion
    - the tendency of keeping options available with no real benefits
    - effect of expectations: when we believe something will be good, it generally will be good
