Gorgeous. Popular.

Perfect. Perfectly wrong.

Tally has finally become pretty. Now her looks are beyond perfect, her clothes are awesome, her boyfriend is totally hot, and she's completely popular. It's everything she's ever wanted.

But beneath all the fun -- the nonstop parties, the high-tech luxury, the total freedom -- is a nagging sense that something's wrong. Something important. Then a message from Tally's ugly past arrives. Reading it, Tally remembers what's wrong with pretty life, and the fun stops cold.

Now she has to choose between fighting to forget what she knows and fighting for her life -- because the authorities don't intend to let anyone with this information survive.

E soprattutto... chi deve prendere queste decisioni?

I liked it more than Uglies. The description of the society and the pretties ways was interesting, and I really enjoyed the new character Zane.

Again, I was bored since she started travelling into the forest, not to mention the part with the experiment was too long and unnecessary. I think in general, the author doesn't write very intriguing parts during the travels/movings.

Also in Pretties the final is not what you would expect. I think it would have been cool if Zane were a traitor and tricked Tally in coming back to pretty town.

Sometimes, during all the book, I felt a "pressure" in describing Tally as a badass... I don't like her particularly, but this made me dislike her even more. I think her actions should speak for herself, not the celebration of the author.

I didn't love this book quite as much as the first in the series but it was still good and I will be looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

    美是一種遺傳,也是某種特定的安排與組合,讓人一看就印象深刻,而且會欣然嚮往,這就是美。
    不能確定的是,美麗的人也有煩惱嗎?當然有!
    他們常困在美的各種迷思裡,一心想要找出答案,
    不過真相本身帶著極為殘酷的隱喻,他們是想不透的,只能藉由其他事物轉移焦點,
    繼續在美麗中沉淪或者略過,改用其他替代方式;
    簡單說,他們不能忍受不美麗,只要美麗就行了。
    美麗就是人生!?
    除美麗,其他都不是重點,生活變額極為狹隘,少了其他東西可填充。
    是什麼樣的人需要美麗呢?
    覺得不夠美麗的人啊。
    不能忍受一絲缺陷的人,改變了先天的條件,透過人工打造出絕對完美的比例,並且讓美放大,
    以極為誇張之法,在人體的各部位進行革命;
    直接打了上帝一巴掌──因為不夠完美,挑戰了造物主的權威。
    討人誇,這種行為,如何產生?──因為自卑,
    還有沒有理會的窘境令人覺得無趣,希望吸引人的目光。
    參與是人的天性,而美麗就是很好的捷逕,自認不夠美麗的人都像影子,沒有自己,
    在美麗加持下,會有改變嗎?
    有。改得不像原來的自己,心裡卻還是膽怯,即便美麗的光環下,依舊無法躲開被否定的命運,
    這才是美麗最致命的缺陷,卻無人提問。
    你自認為美嗎?
    標準何在?
    一切都言之過早,小說裡的眾生相都像是美麗的囚徒,沒得自由不說,更像另一種近似封閉的生活方式。
    獨缺彈性,一味追尋美,而忘了美會失控,成了一場災難。
    沒有靈魂的改造,你想會如何?
    我一想都覺得膽顫心驚!
