Michael Crichton imaginations are beyond Nano-Tech scientists. Really exciting!!!

It has been almost a decade since i last read a Michael Crichton's novel. I always remembered his novels to be obscure and difficult to understand. Full of jargon that only people in that field could understand. I was however, pleasantly surprised after reading this novel. It was fast-paced, easy to comprehend and in fact contained a degree of technicalities that was challenging enough to captivate but not too much to bore - all the right mix of a thriller-mystery combination. It was fantastic. I think perhaps his books are cater better to an adult audience with a degree of knowledge instead of adolescents. I am glad i picked this book up in a sale. I am keen to read more of his other novels now.

The guy is a genius and this one is proof of it. Nanotechnology is the main subject of this thriller. An experience turns bad and we become the prey.

I generally tell peple I don't like sci-fi, but I do quite enjoy Michael Crichton occasionally. I generally tell peple I don't like sci-fi, but I do quite enjoy Michael Crichton occasionally. Like most of the other books I've read by him, I found the science potentially worrying, but also it seemed a long way off based on the descriptions in the book about the processes and timescales involved.
I found the central character annoying for the first couple of hundred pages because of his tendency to go on about what a "wonder dad" he is, but once he gets away from the family environment he grew on me a bit - as much as a typically faceless Michael Crichton character can grow on you.

From Jurassic Park to Nano Technology, the author totally captured geeky readers. Easy reading and didn't expect I finisihed the book in no time. One of the good memories for the late Mr. Crichton.
