She's just a New York City girl living with her artist mom...

News Flash: Dad is prince of Genovia. (So that's why a limo meets her at the airport!)

Downer: Dad can't have any more kids. (So no heir to the throne.)

Shock of the Century: Like it or not, Mia Thermopolis is prime princess material.

Mia must take princess lessons from her dreaded grandmére, the dowager princess of Genovia, who thinks Mia has a thing or two to learn before she steps up to the throne.

Well, her father can lecture her until he's royal-blue in the face about her princessly duty--no way is she moving to Genovia and leaving Manhattan behind. But what's a girl to do when her name is Princess Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo?

The story of Mia developed to the shocking news that her mother was pregnant and Mia was going to have her Algebra teacher be her stepfather.

It looked like the princess had not had enough troubles. In this volume Mia got to face her first-time interview which would be broadcasted across the States, handle her grandmere's insistence of giving a royal-scale wedding for Mia's mother, and all those funny wishful thinking Mia fancied after receiving her first love letter and subsequent instant messages from Jo-C-rox.

"and yet you continue to pine for him until every fiber of your being cries out for him and you think you are probably going to die even though your Biology teacher says it is physiologically impossible to die from a broken heart"

"a princess, no matter what kind of adversity she is facing, has to put on a brave face and not hide behind her wealth and privilege"

I just love this series. It just keeps getting better and better. Whenever I read one of the books, it makes me want to read the next one immediately. I guess the diary entry way of writing--the style of writing that the author chose to do so--makes us more curious on what will happen next because we tend to delve into the personal thoughts of others--or the protagonist in the story. Whenever we see a diary kept hidden, we are curious on what is written inside it--the fact that Princess Mia's diary is an open book for us. Plus we tend to pick up some Princess Lessons in it. That's why I love it!

  • Another cute story in this series.

I truly never thought I would get hooked on this series but I did. I again love that it's so different from the movie and the only thing the same is the character names. Fun read, cute stroy.

This one was cute, but had a lot more fluff than substance. I was disappointed with the ending. Not terrible, but not great either.
