Once again, as she did with Interview with the Vampire, Anne Rice reveals the starling world of the undead.

And now, this world of dark pleasures and glorious decadence comes to life in a tale that takes us back 6,000 years to the shacking creation of the first vampire - Akasha, Queen of the Damned.  Akasha's story unfolds across the ages and around the world - from the dawn of civilization to the present day, from Egypt to the Himalayas, to Paris Peru, and finally to California.  There Akasha faces her ancient, vengeful enemy, and the fate of all the living dead - and the living as well - id decided.

  • Queen of the Damned By Anne Rice

In one of the most famous cases of man-on-the-street criticism, a London cabby once told Sir Arthur Conan Doyle that, while Sherlock Holmes might not have died when he went over the Reichenbach Falls, "he was never the same man after." Well, the Vamp ... (read full critics)

  • Best of the First Three

I have just finished the first three in the Vampire Chronicles series. This is by far the best. A little gory but what do you expect. The story of the red twins is enough by itself. Imaginative explanation of what happened to create vampires. Nice break from Vlad - no mention of him. I am goin ... (continue)

  • I'm usually pretty into supernatural and vampire books, but for some reason this one just did not impress me. The story was hard to follow, in part because it was told from so many different character points of view. Disappointing.

    The Movie Sucked!

It is nothing like the movie. The movie ruined the plot and characters of the book. If you have seen the movie you probably won't like the book.
