I was relatively happy with the way this wrapped up, but the pacing of the third book was very slow for me. I really enjoyed the first book of the series. The second book brought out that horrible tragedy that invariably falls on the main characters of a Hobb series, but was also enjoyable in its own twisted way. The third book however just seemed to go on too long without anything really happening. I didn't feel the tension that I normally do when she is bringing a series to a close. I'm not sorry that I read it, but after loving all of her earlier works I felt that this one just had an average ending tacked on to it.
