Running with Chaos

Chaos stood at the edge of Erin's bed. Resolve flickered in his eyes, a gun gripped tightly in his hand. He could end this game now, simply pull back the trigger and all would be right. The chaos would end, the confusion would stop, and the pain the child suffered over and over again would cease to exist. And yet he stood motionless, his hands trembled while the sweat dripping from his forehead began to blur his vision. Just as he moved the gun closer to her head; a loud, piercing scream shook the silent room. Erin Clayton burst awake. He couldn't do it, didn't do it.

After lowering the gun, Chaos fumbled nervously through his pockets until he found the list of twelve names, all men who hold Erin's destiny in their hands'. As Chaos gives her the list, the air seems to thin, neither can breath, and for a brief moment in time they both feel themselves give into the darkness of hatred, lies, and cold blooded murder. Though wrong, this must be done in order to save eight year old Raven's life.

Not fifteen minutes later Erin is standing in front of a house staring at large wooden numbers which hang just above the newly painted garage door. The house numbers 626 look bulky, cracked, and give her a chilling sense of what is to come next.

Running with Chaos delves deeply into the psyche of three different people, all on a collision course to stop a rigid, unyielding destiny which was long ago written. Chaos, Erin, and Sam's lives become intertwined. Each has to grapple with right and wrong, as they are forced to answer just how far they are willing to go to save another. Their journeys' will show the painful side of love, fate, and promises kept.
