This was an otherwise good book with one huge writing flaw. The characterizations were good, the plot mostly engaging. The flaw? Well, there's one rule that is patently beat any any student learning creative writing: Show, don't tell. So what does this author do? Builds you up to a climatic battle, then, as you turn the page, TELLS you how it went. Total anticlimax.
