Her lives turns out to be much different from what she could imagine and, when the family for which she's working as a babysitter decides to move to America, it's the beginning of a great adventure. She never forgets what her father told her: "Never look back". She lives in New York, in Oregon, in San Francisco...
A very rich life, that brings the reader from London to America, from East to West, through the secession war.. Really entriguing, although the rythm's sometimes a little bit too slow.
