My Review: Stephanie Plum can’t seem to catch a break as a bounty hunter or in her love life. In this audiobook, Stephanie is on the trail of Eddie DeChooch, an old man who has a colorful history with Grandma Mazur. According to Grandma Mazur, Eddie’s penis doesn’t work quite right and that’s definitely more than Stephanie wanted to hear.

Stephanie’s motley crew enlarges with the additions of Mooner, Dougie and Valerie. Mooner and Dougie have partaken in recreational drugs for many years and start most sentences with “Duuuuuuuddeeee.” That doesn’t seem to make them all bad in Stephanie’s eyes, she still goes on the hunt after they both go missing.

Valerie, Stephanie’s sister, is back in “the ‘burg” after her husband ran off with their babysitter. She brings along her two daughters, Angie and Mary Alice, and the threesome move in with Stephanie’s parents. They’d been living in California for quite a while and although California may be moving fast in the world, “the ‘burg” hasn’t changed. And probably won’t. “The ‘burg” is old fashioned, the neighbors are noisy and everyone knows everyone’s business. It’s great that way, for Stephanie at least. She’s able to get tips, help and a little trouble at times from the area.

Mooner and Valerie add tons of humor to the story line and I really hope to see them in the future books in this series.

The biggest news in Seven Up? Joe Morelli, vice cop and on again-off again love interest, proposes to Stephanie! I love the relationship between these two. Stephanie never gives a real answer to the proposal but goes wedding dress shopping with her Mom and Grandma Mazur. By the end of the audiobook, we’re left hanging on their relationship and the relationship that may be blooming between Stephanie and Ranger, an expert bounty hunter.

Another great audiobook with suspense, drama, humor and a little splash of love. Not much though, I don’t like mushy!

Narrator Review: Thank heavens for Lorelei King. I’m so happy that she’s narrating the remainder of this series! In the first six audiobooks, I was bounced between narrators and abridged and unabridged versions. King gives the characters unique voices and adds to their personalities. I really love the voice she gives to Ranger and it seems to fit his ethnic background better than the previous narrators. Grandma Mazur is another great one. King gives her a vibrant, but old lady-ish voice that will make her come to life.
