    Julie did a beautiful job of telling her heartbreaking story. While I read I felt her pain and the desperate longing she had to be loved by a mother incapable of love. As I looked through the pictures in the middle it was shocking to know what she went through. She LOOKED like a healthy beautiful girl and you would never know about the constant termoil she was dealing with.This is one of the most touching true stories I have ever read. Only two others come to mind that touched me in a similar way 1) The Glass Castle : A Memior by Jeannette Walls and 2) A Child Called it by David Pelzer

A young girl is perched on the cold chrome of yet another doctor’s examining table, missing yet another day of school. Just twelve, she’s tall, skinny, and weak. It’s four o’clock, and she hasn’t been allowed to eat anything all day. Her mother, on the other hand, seems curiously excited.
