It's a few years after the Riftwar, but trouble is not nearly over for Midkemia in general and for Prince Arutha in particular. Our hero has to deal with dark forces that still have me shiver despite my re-reading the whole Riftwar saga once a year.
If you loved Magician, its sequel will not disappoint you--unless your favorite character happens to be Tomas and you expect him to play as big a role in this as he played in Feist's debut novel. In that case, you might want to give Silverthorn a re-read.
