Don't judge a book by its cover we're told, but how can one not judge this book by its cover? The cover is actually one of the main reasons I bought the book. It's dreamy, artistic, and makes one curious as to what wonders it holds inside.

A pleasant summary of history of philosophy as well as a novel developing on several levels. The device of “mise en abym”, a story within a story, features the narrative structure. Seriously it is a Philsophy 101 and I really have some difficulty in reading it at the first time. But this book is definitely worth re-reading it as it let me know more about the history of questioning towards the existence of human & nature and the thoughts of different and famous philsophers. It is a great book for the beginners of Philosophy..
But if you really want to learn from it, do get a hardbook version because I dont't find the layout of this version particularly good. The words are too crowded.
