In addition to wonders, readers will find that this particu ... (continue)

A pleasant summary of history of philosophy as well as a novel developing on several levels. The device of “mise en abym”, a story within a story, features the narrative structure. Too difficult at the time when I first finished it; too introductory when I re-read it. Yet it's a fun read for all people have interest in philosophy. However, if you already have a stance, then I would say Gaarder is a bit biased against post-modernist... or I should say, theorist after Nietzssche? He gave a general picture over the development of human's mind over the past two thousand years....
Anyway though many of the others highly acclaimed the plot Gaarder created, to me it's a bit ... LAME. People used it many times. Cliche. hahahahaha (well I am cynical.... sigh)
