Hmm. I liked this storyline and I enjoyed the book, but I really did NOT like the ending. It just left everything too open and I didn't think it was really.... Tally.
Third volume of the Uglies trilogy (which eventually became 4 volumes). I'm not certain why, but my interest waned as I read this one. It does pull things together, however. You see that the new societies arose to remedy the mistakes man had made, and that by freeing their minds, the same mistakes might be made again. But better to be free to make mistakes than to live as conditioned beings....Continua
I enjoyed Specials more than I did Pretties. It seemed to go back to ther original premise of the Uglies series, social commentary and change. There was a lot of action with some interesting sci-fi moments and the ending had a great message....Continua
The conclusion of the Uglies Trilogy had some unexpected twists and turns. I definately was frustrated with Tally at first, but very satisfied with the ending. I think it along with the whole series has a lot of issues for discussion--the environment, self-esteem/self-concept, beauty, cutting, utopia, control, etc....Continua
