This book provides a lot of examples to illustrate its points. It gives very concise and practical steps on how to improve your style of writing. There are summaries at the end of the chapter which sums up what the author's most significant points are, which i find very helpful.
It did take me quite a while to get through this book, and i literally skimmed through (without assimilating) many of the examples, but that's just because painstakingly reading through every word is not my way of learning. I read the summaries at the end to get an idea of the principles the author was conveying, and then read the examples to get a clearer picture.
Aside from guiding you how to write proper coherent statements, and then stringing these statements together to produce intelligible paragraphs, the author also took it one step higher. He gave tips on how to beautify one's writing after mastering the skill of writing fluently and coherently. The ultimate result is a wholesome essay that is easily understood, and is not taxing on readers' brains.
So despite the tough read, i would not hesitate to recommend this book to anyone who wants to upgrade their writing skill, whether you are new to the language or English is your Mother Tongue....Continua
