C. S. Lewis really gives all that he is capable of in this last book of Narnia. The tension escalates throughout the book. The pace quickens continuously. The reader gets completely absorbed into the story. The fight scenes are comparable to the best epic tales like Lord of the Rings, and I really look forward to seeing The Last Battle made into a movie!
Then the plot turns unexpectedly at the last quarter of the book. Here I would've downgraded my rating, had I not remembered that Lewis meant to draw a parallel with the Bible. The turning of the plot does make sense when you consider the message of the entire story - even if you're not really satisfied at the outcome of the battle.
