  A third-class wizard is forced to take on a job in a far-away country, where he struggles with foreign protocol and has to chose between the evil king he has sworn to help and his conscience, which screams to get out of there.

  I liked the characters as well as the fact that the author does not make it easy for them to escape the mess they are caught in. The ending is satisfying and yet left me hoping for more... I'll definitely look for the sequel.

  This is truly terrible. The story isn't very original or interesting, but what makes this novel so repulsive is the pathetic writing. Especially the dialogue is pathetic, because every single character speaks in the same manner, which is nowhere near funny nor witty. I wonder how I managed to read more than a hundred pages before abandoning this!
