The Afghan is not up to Forsyth's usual standard!
The Daily Mail classified this as "Forsyth's finest novel since the Jackal." I have to disagree. In no way can it be compared to the Jackal. It both content and plot it is of far lower quality. The book starts off well and has a hint of greater thing...Continua

My husband didn't like it as well as Vince Flynn books, although he appreciated the history included in it. It wasn't as action-packed as the Flynn books, but I thought it was a very fitting ending that the hero died to accomplish his goal.

I didn't finish the book, because for the first 200 pages it felt more as a history book then a thriller.

A nice story, it's not the Jackal but the reading is pleasant and Forsythe's style always good!
