  The Daily Mail classified this as "Forsyth's finest novel since the Jackal." I have to disagree. In no way can it be compared to the Jackal. It both content and plot it is of far lower quality. The book starts off well and has a hint of greater things to come. Unfortunately, it never reaches that high watermark.

  There is a lot of history - which in itself is interesting - but it takes up a considerable amount of the story. The plot contains a number of fanciful episodes which for me spoils it completely, and the ending is rather substandard. In giving it three stars I think I'm being generous!

  My husband didn't like it as well as Vince Flynn books, although he appreciated the history included in it. It wasn't as action-packed as the Flynn books, but I thought it was a very fitting ending that the hero died to accomplish his goal.

• I didn't finish the book, because for the first 200 pages it felt more as a history book then a thriller.
