  Set in a state run, Tubercular sanatorium at the start of WWI, this book was about how fear and prejudice can build out of control. Unfortunately the book did not live up to the premise. I couldn't build a sympathetic relationship with a single character. I kept reading because it seemed like the story was going to build up to a big climax but it just fell flat.
