This is a timely book to remind us that to predict the future, we must first understand the past; if we want to make lots of $$$ in the future, we'd better find out how $$$ was gained or lost in the past.

  • Compelling story

The history of financial innovation was told in a smooth yet neat way. I like the way the author presented the origins of different financial assets in chapters and still relate it to the happening of the environment at then. A very good way to appreciate the history of finance!

After Wall Street Criss on 2008 and recent financial melt down in Europe most of expert on T.V. flow out the solution. In fact if we examine the financial history closely may be we can find the clue.

The book "The Ascent of Money" the author cleverly use both history event compare to current situation.

He covered from money, credit, interest, Bonds, insurance and real estate

He also reveal the true face of money, he stated that the real money is not the money that we current holding on hand its only a currency.

As you remember at 2008 Hong Kong Lehand Brother's mini-bond note, which is similar to 18th century war bond at England.

The old word says "The history repeat itself" is true when you knew history
