Like watching a car crash, it was impossible to stop myself from reading this book. Like watching a car crash, it was impossible to stop myself from reading this book. Badly written, and egocentric beyond belief, the only thing of interest was finding out how Donovan's music related to that of his peers. Unfortunately in Donovan's view, all his peers copied his music from him: he taught the Beatles how to play guitar (all of them), invented heavy metal, world music, celtic rock, psychedelia, but definitely didn't copy anything by Bob Dylan. Oh no.
