    Non c'è niente di meglio dei racconti gotici, se scritti bene. E in questo casi i racconti non mi hanno delusa. Quelle atmosfere inquietanti che lasciano protagonisti e lettori assolutamente impotenti di ftonte all"inspiegabile ritornano nei racconti della de Maurier con una forza strepitosa. Il racconto che dà il titolo alla raccolta e che ha ispirato l'omonimo film di Hitchcock, trasmette quell'inquietudine che solo il filone gotico sa ispirare.

    Eh no. Una pioniera del gotico moderno come lei può decisamente fare di meglio.
    Buoni gli spunti dei primi tre racconti, poi si scade un po' nel melodrammatico.
