Occasionally crosses the line from crime drama to grotesque. There are some mentally-jarring scenes in here that actually kept me up at night out of fear of intense nightmares. Psychologically scorching, could possibly be considered historical fiction a la Caleb Carr but with far more focus on death ... (continue)
