Book Description
Photography has been widely accepted as an art form for several years, with museums on the subject in every major American and European city. Nude art photography takes a special position in this development. The human body has been a subject of art for centuries. As with other art forms, nude art photography explores the borders of the medium. The focus in this book is on the aesthetic. The Body contains photos from the international collection of The Gallery of Esthetic Photography (GEP). The GEP holds the largest collection of nude art photography in Europe. Featured photographers include the Spanish celebrity photographer Miquel Arnal. His black and white personal work is rich in contrast and evokes feelings of bewilderment. German born Klaus Kampert uses dancers as his models. Perfect lighting and an eye for detail and composition result in top class images with abstract characteristics. At the other end of the spectrum is the work of the Argentinean photographer Walter Bosque. He positions his models in dramatic environmental settings resulting in stark contrasts, for instance that of white skin and burned forest.
