  I didn't learn much about philosophy in this book, but I was intrigued by its focus - philosophers' attitudes towards death and the manners of their own deaths. This makes the book less informative than entertaining perhaps, but it is an interesting angle, one which allows us to understand death better - or at least understand how the greatest minds thought about death.
